Zovo Word to PDF

Turn a Word .docx file into a PDF, with a report of what was carried.

Zovo Word to PDF converts a Word document (.docx) into a PDF with selectable text. It carries headings, paragraphs with their alignment, bold, italic, underline and strikethrough, text sizes, links, bulleted and numbered lists with their real numbers, simple tables with merged cells, JPEG and PNG images, page breaks, the page size and margins, and footnotes (printed at the end). Tracked changes are accepted. After it makes the PDF, it reads the text back out of the file and reports how many paragraphs, list items and table cells it found in order, and it lists each element type it did not carry (text boxes, shapes, charts, headers and footers, comments and more) with counts.

• Tables with merged cells and header rows repeated on new pages
• JPEG and PNG images, page breaks, page size (Letter, A4, Legal and more) and margins
• Footnotes and endnotes printed at the end; tracked changes accepted
• Read-back check of the PDF text, table cells, images and page size, plus a list of what was not carried

Limitations

• Reads .docx only; .doc, password-protected and macro-enabled (.docm) files are refused with steps to fix them
• Text boxes, shapes, charts, SmartArt, equations, headers, footers, comments and EMF/WMF images are not carried; each is counted in the report
• Fonts, colors and shading are not carried; the PDF uses Noto Sans
• Emoji, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Hebrew print as ? and are listed; documents with more than 30% of such text are refused
• Up to 15 MB, 200,000 characters, 200 PDF pages and 100 images per file
